Welcome to IhsanHub: What this place is for

June 13, 2026Admin

Most blogs open with a mission statement nobody asked for, so I'll keep this part short.

IhsanHub is a place for people who are trying to do two things at once: live with some kind of intention, and actually build something in the real world. A business, a career, a habit, a better version of next week. Those two goals are supposed to fit together neatly. In practice they pull at each other constantly, and most of the content out there picks a side. You either get the spiritual stuff with no grip on real life, or the productivity stuff with no soul in it.

This is an attempt at the overlap.

The name comes from ihsan, a word that gets translated as "excellence" or "doing things beautifully," though neither quite lands it. The Prophet ﷺ described it as worshipping God as though you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, knowing that He sees you” (Bukhari and Muslim). That's the famous version, the one about worship. But the same idea spreads outward into everything else: the way you answer an email, the way you price your work, the way you treat the person who can do nothing for you. Doing the thing well because someone is watching, even when no human is. That's the thread I want to pull on here.

So who is this for?

Honestly, a bit of everyone. If you're a Muslim entrepreneur trying to grow something without your deen becoming an afterthought, you'll find plenty here aimed squarely at you. But if you're not Muslim, or not particularly religious, you're not in the wrong room either. A lot of what we'll talk about, focus, sincerity, the long game, not measuring your life against a highlight reel, isn't owned by anyone. I'll write from where I stand, but I'm not interested in talking only to people who already agree with me.

Here's roughly what you can expect.

  • Reflections. The slightly slower pieces. Things I've been chewing on about work, faith, ambition, failure, and the strange anxiety of building anything. Less "five tips" and more "here's a thing that's been bothering me, let's sit with it."
  • Quran & Sunnah. Posts that go back to the source material and try to read it carefully. I'll cite hadith with their sources, and I'll be upfront when something is beyond my pay grade and worth taking to an actual scholar. I'm not a mufti, and I'd rather say "I don't know" than pretend otherwise.
  • Tech & Productivity. This is the practical lane. Tools, systems, the honest mechanics of getting things done, minus the breathless "this app changed my life" energy. Because, let’s be honest, it's almost never the app… it's you, and your defaults, and we'll talk about that too.
  • Announcements. Housekeeping, new things, changes, the occasional behind-the-scenes (like this post).

A few things I'm promising myself, which you can hold me to:

I won't write filler just to hit a publishing schedule (because I don’t have one). If a post has nothing in it, it doesn't go out.

I'll stay out of the deep fiqh weeds. There's real disagreement among the schools of thought on plenty of issues, handled by people far more qualified than me, and a casual blog is no place to play referee. When we touch the Islamic material, I'll stick to the well-established ground that the overwhelming majority would recognise.

I'll also try to write like a human being talking to another human being. I won’t be pretending I have it all figured out, because I don't. That's sort of the point… ihsan is a direction you walk in, not a box you tick.

New posts will land a few times a week inshAllah; some will be useful, some will just be honest, and hopefully a few will be both.

If any of this sounds like your kind of thing, stick around. Poke through the categories, find the lane that fits you, and come back when you've got the time. There's no algorithm here trying to keep you hostage, just few words at a time, written for people who want to build something good and stay good while they do it.

See you soon, inshAllah.
